Gujarat Titans (GT) will face Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (April 9). Notably, GT have won both the games they played in the 16th season of the league so far. In contrast, KKR suffered a defeat in one of their last two matches.

While GT registered a comprehensive six-wicket victory over Delhi Capitals (DC) in their previous game, the Kolkata-based team thrashed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 81 runs at the Eden Gardens. It was Shardul Thakur’s brilliant all-round performance that helped KKR make a comeback in the encounter against RCB. The 31-year-old cricketer scored a sensational 68 off 29 balls for his team and also bagged a wicket. Meanwhile, Sai Sudharsan shined for the Ahmedabad-based franchise scoring 62 off 48 deliveries in the game against DC.

GT will look to register their third win in a row and eye the top spot of the points table. On the other hand, KKR will try not to lose the confidence that they gained in their last match.

The venue offers a batter-friendly track and tends to help the spinners. However, the pacers can also extract assistance from the surface if they bowl in the right areas. Although a high-scoring game is expected to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, batters are needed to spend some time in the middle.
