Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star opener Ruturaj Gaikwad was born on January 31, 1997, in Pune, Maharashtra, India. Gaikwad began his cricket journey after joining Dilip Vangsarkar Academy at the age of 13.
Gaikwad’s father Dashrath Gaikwad was a DRDO employee while his mother Sawita Gaikwad is a teacher in a municipality school.
Gaikwad likes to play Golf when he is off the field.
He made his first-class debut in the year 2016 at the age of 19 by representing Maharashtra.
In 2018, Ruturaj Gaikwad was named in India’s team for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
In Indian domestic cricket structure he played for India A, India B, India Blue, Maharashtra and India U-23.
Gaikwad owns the record for the most centuries by any player in Vijay Hazare Trophy history – 12.
Gaikwad is the only batter to hit seven sixes in an over (one off a no-ball) in all forms of cricket.
