The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 began with a blockbuster clash between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK), where the Hardik Pandya-led side emerged victorious. In the exciting first week of IPL 2023, fans have seen quite a few thrillers and some top-notch performances from both batters and bowlers.

The KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) played the last match of the eye-catching first week, which saw last year’s debutants registering a comfortable victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Ekana Stadium on Friday.

After Week 1, Lucknow have acquired the numero uno position in the points table with 2 wins out of three matches. Similarly, CSK star Ruturaj Gaikwad has continued his super impressive form and currently owns the Orange Cap. He scored 149 runs in two games at an average of 74.50 and a strike rate of 183.95, with 92 being his best knock.

When it comes to the Purple Cap list, LSG fast bowler Mark Wood is the leader with 8 wickets to his credit in two matches, with one five-wicket haul. Both Ruturaj and Wood are also fighting closely for the Most Valuable Player award.
