The match between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in IPL 2023, held on Monday, saw a flurry of runs as batters from both teams took the stage. Amidst the run-fest, Ajinkya Rahane grabbed attention with his outstanding save.

Rahane’s acrobatic effort on the penultimate ball of the ninth over saved five runs for CSK. Glenn Maxwell had hit the ball over long-off, which Rahane intervened and managed to flick back into the ground.

RCB was chasing a massive target of 227, and it looked like they might achieve it when Maxwell and Faf du Plessis were at the crease. However, both departed in quick succession, putting RCB’s hopes of victory in jeopardy. Maxwell scored 76 off 36 balls, while du Plessis added 62 off 33 balls, and the duo shared a 126-run partnership for the third wicket.

Earlier, CSK posted a massive total of 226 for six after being put in to bat first. Devon Conway was the top scorer for CSK, smashing 83 runs off 45 deliveries. Conway and Rahane shared a 74-run partnership for the second wicket. Rahane made 37 off 20 balls. Conway later added 80 runs for the third wicket with Shivam Dube, who hit a quick-fire 52 off 27 balls with the help of five sixes and two fours.

Overall, the match was entertaining, with plenty of runs scored, and Rahane’s incredible save was one of the highlights. CSK’s impressive batting display proved too much for RCB, and they emerged victorious by eight runs.
