Delhi Capitals (DC) opener Prithvi Shaw had another disappointing performance in the ongoing 16th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) during his side’s clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Shaw, who has been struggling to score runs lately, was dismissed for a duck courtesy of an outstanding fielding effort by Anuj Rawat. Notably, the Mumbaikar was not included in the starting XI and was used as the Impact Player at the start of the Capitals’ innings in the chase of 175.

It all happened in the opening over of the DC’s innings bowled by Mohammad Siraj when the dynamic opener struck the fourth ball towards the cover region, where Anuj was positioned. Anuj swiftly dived to stop the ball and didn’t waste any time in throwing it towards the bowler’s end. His precise throw hit the stumps directly, resulting in Shaw’s exit from the crease.

Earlier, David Warner chose to field first after winning the toss against the hosts. Virat Kohli smashed a crucial half-century for the Challengers, as RCB finished their innings on 174/6 after 20 overs.

Kohli was the top-scorer for RCB in the innings, with an exact score of 50 runs. Among the bowlers, Kuldeep Yadav and Mitchell Marsh performed impressively for the Capitals, taking 2 wickets each while conceding 23 and 18 runs, respectively.
