Legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar is considered as the ‘God of cricket’ by his fans across the world. Tendulkar has now retired from cricket but his fans still remember him for his batting exploits. While Tendulkar’s professional career is known to many, his personal life is also something to discuss.

Sachin is married to Anjali Tendulkar, and their love story is quite adorable.

Anjali is a paediatrician and a philanthropist by profession.

It was love at first sight for Sachin and Anjali when they spotted each other at Mumbai airport in 1990. Sachin was returning from his first international cricket tour, and Anjali was at the airport to receive her mother.

Since Sachin was famous, it was difficult for him and Anjali to go out in public. There were instances when Sachin used to go out in disguise with Anjali to avoid fans’ attention.

Sachin and Anjali got married on May 24, 1995, after dating each other for around five years.

Anjali, who is six years older than Sachin, sacrificed her career to take care of her husband and family.

In his autobiography, Playing It My Way, Sachin confessed that Anjali helped him deal with the debacles he faced as the captain of the Indian cricket team.

Sachin and Anjali have two children – a daughter (Sara) and a son (Arjun).
