In the 34th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, Delhi Capitals (DC) got the better of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Monday.

Batting first, DC managed to score 144 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Captain David Warner scored 21 runs off 20 balls with 2 fours and 1 six, while all-rounder Axar Patel was the top scorer with 34 runs off 34 balls with 4 fours.

Veteran pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and star spinner Washington Sundar were the most successful bowlers for Sunrisers, with 2 and 3 wickets, respectively.

Chasing the target, SRH began off slow, but Mayank Agarwal‘s 49 runs off 39 balls helped them stay in the game. Heinrich Klaasen contributed 31 runs off 19 balls, and Washington, too, scored 24 runs off 15 balls.

However, the hosts fell short by 7 runs as they could only manage 137 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their 20 overs. Anrich Nortje and Axar were the chief destroyers for the Capitals, as they picked up 2 wickets each.
