The 7th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) took place between defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. The match got off to a dramatic start, with GT pacer Mohammed Shami almost getting DC opener and skipper David Warner out in the first over.
Shami showcased his impeccable swing bowling skills, which left Warner perplexed. The right-arm pacer bowled a fuller-than-length delivery, which swerved away sharply, catching the batter off guard. The ball went to the keeper with a loud noise, and the Titans believed they had their man as they immediately went for an appeal.
However, the umpire turned down the demand, and the Titans decided not to review the decision. But the replay showed the ball had brushed the stumps without dislodging the bails. This revelation left GT players in disbelief and frustration as they missed out on the prized wicket of Warner.

Speaking about the match, the Titans secured their second consecutive win after defeating the Capitals by 6 wickets. The unbeaten half-century from B Sai Sudharsan and three-wicket hauls from Shami and Rashid Khan helped Gujarat maintain their undefeated run in the tournament.
Chasing 163, the Titans got off to a shaky start, losing three wickets with just 54 runs on the board. However, Sudarshan and Vijay Shankar formed a crucial 53-run partnership to steady the ship. David Miller, who arrived in Delhi from Johannesburg just the day before, finished the job as Titans completed the chase with 11 balls to spare and six wickets in hand.
