The fourth match of the sixteenth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) was played on Sunday between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). SRH’s stand-in captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar won the toss and opted to bowl first. However, this decision turned out to be costly as RR posted a mammoth total of 203/4 in their 20 overs.

The Royals were propelled by half-centuries from Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sanju Samson. Buttler and Jaiswal both scored 54, while captain Samson played a brilliant knock of 55 runs off just 32 balls.

In the second innings, left-arm pacer Trent Boult gave RR a great start by bowling a maiden over and topping it off with two wickets. Mayank Agarwal and Harry Brook tried to rescue SRH, but Yuzvendra Chahal broke the partnership by getting the wicket of Brook.

Chahal’s wife, Dhanashree Verma, who was present in the stands, was seen clapping animatedly to celebrate the wicket.

Here’s the video:

Chahal was not done yet as the leg-spinner went on to take three more wickets and became the first Indian bowler to claim 300 wickets in the shortest format of the game. Chahal picked up the wickets of Mayank, Adil Rashid and Bhuvneshwar in his full quota of 4 overs.

Eventually, RR won the match by a whopping margin of 72 runs. The victory was a perfect start to their IPL 2023 campaign. SRH, on the other hand, will have to regroup and come back stronger in their next match. Overall, it was an exciting game of cricket that had everything from high-quality batting to impressive bowling performances.
