Sachin Tendulkar, despite having retired from international cricket in 2013, remains an iconic cricketer who has left an indelible mark on the game. He faced some of the toughest bowlers during his long-lasting career and treated them all with equal respect and skill, whether it was Wasim Akram or Glenn McGrath.
However, there has always been a curiosity about how Tendulkar would have fared against modern-day pacers. In response to this question, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has shared a fantasy video as part of their Legends Month celebration. The video shows Tendulkar batting against some of the best pacers of today, including Kagiso Rabada, Jofra Archer, Pat Cummins, Hasan Ali and Mustafizur Rahman.
In the video, Tendulkar displays his timeless ability to strike the ball with incredible ease, leaving the current generation of bowlers equally dumbfounded. He plays his iconic straight drive against Rabada, pulls Ali for a four, goes backfoot against Cummins to create room and slashes towards deep backward point for a boundary, and drives elegantly through the off-side against Archer and Rahman.
Tendulkar’s achievements in international cricket are unparalleled. He retired as the highest-run scorer in international cricket with over 34,000 runs in more than 750 games. He is the only player in history to have scored 100 international centuries across both Tests and ODIs.
Additionally, Tendulkar is the only cricketer to have participated in six World Cups, with his crowning achievement coming in 2011 when he helped India win the tournament on home soil.
