Shardul Thakur, the fast bowler of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), was recently seen giving catching practice to the children of Delhi Capitals’ (DC) head coach Ricky Ponting and assistant coach Shane Watson.

The video of Thakur practicing with the kids was shared by KKR on their social media handles, showcasing a heartwarming display of sportsmanship.

Talking about the performance of both the teams in the onging season, KKR and DC have been struggling for win. KKR won two of their first three matches but lost their next two games. Meanwhile, DC are yet to secure their first win of the season, having lost all five games played so far.

DC’s troubles have been exacerbated by the absence of their regular captain Rishabh Pant due to injury, which has left a void in the middle order. Stand-in captain David Warner has also been struggling with his scoring rate and opening batter Prithvi Shaw has failed to contribute to the team’s total.

On the other hand, KKR have been relying on standout performances from Shardul, Rinku Singh and their spinners to secure two victories in the tournament. However, KKR has been inconsistent across all departments and has particularly struggled with their powerplay bowling.

Both teams will be eager to break their losing streaks and turn their IPL campaigns around. With the season almost at its halfway mark, every match will be crucial in determining the fate of these teams in the tournament.
