Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will battle against each other in Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Tuesday (May 23). Notably, GT ended their league stage campaign on the top spot with 20 points. Meanwhile, CSK finished the group stage on second position with 17 points.

Speaking about their previous face-off, the two teams have met once in IPL 2023, where the Ahmedabad-based franchise emerged victorious by five wickets in the contest. Rashid Khan was the standout performer for GT as he picked up two wickets and scored 10 runs off just three deliveries in the crunch moment of the game. Shubman Gill also hammered a brilliant fifty for Gujarat and contributed fiery 63 runs off 36 balls in the run chase. On the other hand, despite a sensational inning of 92 runs in 50 deliveries from Ruturaj Gaikwad, CSK bowlers failed to defend the target and eventually ended on the losing side.

Chennai have the experience of 11 playoffs behind them and will enter the field with full confidence on Tuesday. In the meantime, defending champion GT will look to make it into yet another final after a dominating league stage run.
