Gujarat Titans (GT) will battle against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 51st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (May 7). Notably, GT have already faced LSG once in the IPL 2023, where they defeated the Lucknow-based side by seven runs.
Speaking of the previous matches of both teams, GT registered a win against Rajasthan Royals (RR), whereas LSG’s last match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) was washed out and couldn’t be completed due to the rain. Wriddhiman Saha was the top-scorer for the Gujarat-based team in their win over RR, scoring brilliant 41 runs off 34 balls in the run chase. Among bowlers, Rashid Khan picked up three wickets for GT in the first innings. Meanwhile, Ayush Badoni hammered a quickfire 59 off 33 deliveries for LSG in their clash against CSK. Although Badoni remained unbeaten, the match was called off due to rain with four balls to spare.
LSG currently are on the third position of the IPL 2023 points table and will look to make their way into the top two. On the other hand, GT sit at the top and would be focused on maintaining their dominance. It is also noteworthy that Krunal Pandya is expected to captain Lucknow in the absence of KL Rahul, who has been ruled out of the remaining ongoing season following a thigh injury.
