Gujarat Titans (GT) star opener Shubman Gill continued his dream run in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 as he went on to register his third ton in the season in Qualifier 2 against Mumbai Indians (MI). The right-handed batter scored a breathtaking 129 off 60 deliveries after Gujarat were asked to bat first in the contest.

Notably, Gill smashed seven fours and ten sixes during his century knock, and his strokeplay was a treat to watch. Courtesy of his exploit, the right-handed batter surpassed Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Faf du Plessis in the leading run scorer’s race of IPL 2023 as well.

It is also worth mentioning that Gill’s sensational inning powered GT to a mammoth total of 233/5 in their allotted 20 overs in a knockout game against MI. Gill got impressive support from Sai Sudharsan, who contributed valuable 43 runs to the team total.

With the century against MI, Gill has now become the third-highest run-getter in a single IPL season after Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler. Meanwhile, he also broke the record for the highest individual score in the Playoffs of IPL, which was to Virender Sehwag‘s name.
