The 16th season of the Indian Premier League(IPL) is all set to enter its concluding week. The Gujarat Titans (GT), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are the top four teams to qualify for the playoffs this year.
Ten franchises started the competition for the coveted trophy on March 31. During the group stage of the cash-rich league, each team played 14 games – seven at home and seven away – making a total of 70 matches. Only four teams -GT, CSK, LSG and MI – could reach the second stage of the tournament.
In the playoffs, a four-game series will take place. The top two teams from the IPL 2023 points-table will play in Qualifier 1, and the winner will advance directly to the final. The losing team will then compete against the winner of the Eliminator, which will take place between the third and fourth-ranked teams.
The summit clash will take place between the winners of Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2.
