The summit clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday (May 28) couldn’t take place as it was postponed due to relentless rain. The rainfall turned out to be a big disappointment for the fans, who turned up in large numbers to support their favourite team. However, the Board of Cricket Control in India (BCCI) rescheduled the event and moved it to reserve day, i.e. Monday (May 29).

Although the announcement of postponement relieved the spectators, it came out too late in the night (11:00 pm IST), and many fans were struck at the venue without umbrellas. It was amidst all this commotion and heavy rain that the giant banner of Virat Kohli came to the rescue of the spectators. Notably, the organizers of the IPL had put up huge posters for the grand summit clash at the stadium, and Kohli’s banner was one of them.

After waiting for some more time to let the rain stop and then leave, fans were handed over yet another disappointment as the drizzle never really stopped in Ahmedabad. In the end, what helped them bail out of the ground without getting wet was the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) star Kohli’s banner, under which they took shelter and made their way out of the ground. The video of the same soon went viral on the internet.

Here’s the video:

It is worth mentioning that BCCI has issued guidelines by which the fans who bought the ticket to watch the ultimate clash can re-enter the ground on reserve day.

Speaking of Virat’s run in IPL 2023, the RCB batter had a great season and amassed impressive 639 runs comprising two tons. But unfortunately, despite the valiant effort of the former India captain, the Bangalore-based team couldn’t qualify for the playoffs.
