Trent Boult and his first over breakthroughs are a never-ending love story. The thing with a player like Boult is that one can’t keep him out of the game. Even if he fails to deliver with the ball, he ensures to keep the opposition behind in the game just with his fielding.
Boult is a supreme athlete and amongst the best in international cricket. He is either plucking out the balls from thin air or affecting direct run-outs.
The catch he took on Friday (May 19) of Punjab Kings (PBKS) opener Prabhsimran Singh off his own bowling was enough to showcase why he’s considered the best fielder among fast bowlers.
This all happened in the second delivery of the first over when Prabhsimran chipped a length ball towards Boult, who flew to his right and grabbed the red-leather on his follow-through.

Earlier, Rajasthan Royals(RR) skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bowl first against PBKS in their last league game of IPL 2023.
Sent into bat, PBKS lost wickets at regular intervals and were 50-4 by the end of the seventh over. But Sam Curran (49 not out) and Jitesh Sharma (44 off 28) added 64 runs for the fifth wicket to bring the home team back into the game. After Sharma’s dismissal, Shahrukh Khan played a valuable knock of 41 (23). On the back of Curran and Shahrukh’s effort, PBKS set a target of 188 for Rajasthan.
Chasing 188 for victory, Yashasvi Jaiswal (50 off 36) and Devdutt Padikkal (51 off 30) slammed quick fifties, while Shimron Hetmyer struck 46 and impact substitute scored Dhruv Jurel quickfire 10 runs in four balls to seal the game for RR with two balls to spare.
Rajasthan are on the fifth spot in the points table and have to wait for other teams’ matches to see whether they will progress further or not. On the other hand, Punjab have become the third team after Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Delhi Capitals (DC) to get eliminated from IPL 2023.
