The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 has provided fans with several memorable moments, both on and off the field. Unfortunately, one such incident that hit the headlines for all wrong reasons was the post-match spat between former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) skipper Virat Kohli and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) mentor Gautam Gambhir at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.
The incident took place during the post-game handshake between the players of both teams, and it resulted in both Kohli and Gambhir receiving a hefty fine from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
In response to the heated argument between Kohli and Gambhir, former Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has come up with a hilarious suggestion for a soft drink brand ‘Sprite’.
“I think #Sprite should sign #Gauti and #Cheeku for their campaign #ThandRakh what say guys? @GautamGambhir @imVkohli @Sprite,” tweeted Yuvraj.

Yuvraj’s recent tweet pokes fun at the altercation and suggests that the two players might benefit from the cooling effect of Sprite, which is known for its refreshing properties.
Batted first, RCB managed to put 126-9 on the scoreboard in their stipulated 20 overs. In reply, LSG could only score 108 runs before getting bowled out in 19.5 overs. The game saw several heated exchanges between Kohli and Afghani youngster Naveen-ul-Haq. Kohli was particularly determined to win the match, as he wanted to give back after RCB’s last-ball defeat against the same opposition in their previous encounter.
However, things turned ugly during the post-match handshake between the teams when Kohli and Naveen were seen in a heated verbal exchange. Gambhir intervened, but the situation only escalated when Kohli allegedly abused Gambhir’s team members, who he claimed were like his family. Kohli’s response to Gambhir’s outburst was equally confrontational, and he asked Gambhir to keep his family in control.
