England fast bowler Jofra Archer has been ruled out of the IPL 2023.

Archer was representing Mumbai Indians (MI) in the 16th season of the cash-rich league.

The fast bowler was roped in for a whopping INR 8 crore by MI during the IPL 2022 mega auction.

Archer played his first game of IPL 2023 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on April 02.

Archer was then sidelined for the next four games due to soreness in his elbow.

The injury kept Archer in and out of the playing XI, and he also flew to Belgium for a minor surgery.

Archer played his last game of IPL 2023 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on May 06.

Archer’s performance in the 16th season of IPL:

  • Total matches: 5
  • Total wickets: 2
  • Average: 95
  • Economy: 9.5
  • BBI: 1/35

Archer’s England teammate Chris Jordan has replaced him for the remainder of IPL 2023.
