In a thrilling encounter, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 7 wickets in Match 58 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Saturday.

Batting first, SRH posted a massive 182/6 after impressive knocks from Anmolpreet Singh, Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad. Anmolpreet smashed 36 runs off 27 balls and Heinrich scored 47 runs off 29 balls with the help of 3 fours and 3 sixes. Abdul provided late flourish and contributed 37 runs off 25 balls with the help of 4 sixes.

In response, Lucknow had a shaky start as opener Kyle Mayers was dismissed for just 2 runs. However, Quinton de Kock played a quickfire 29 runs off 19 balls with 3 fours and 1 six. Prerak Mankad played an exceptional innings of 64 runs off 45 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes, while Marcus Stoinis also chipped in with 40 runs off 25 balls with 2 fours and 3 sixes.

Nicholas Pooran then grabbed the limelight with his quickfire knock that tool LSG over the finish line. Pooran played a blistering inning of 44 runs from just 13 deliveries with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes, which included a massive six in the final over which sealed the game for Lucknow.
