The 56th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 saw Rajasthan Royals (RR) registering a dominant victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Thursday.

Put in to bat, the Knight Riders started their innings with a steady flow of runs, thanks to the contributions from Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Jason Roy. However, they lost wickets at regular intervals, with only Venkatesh Iyer playing a significant knock of 57 runs off 42 balls. The team finished their innings at 149/8 in 20 overs, with Yuzvendra Chahal being the pick of the bowlers for Rajasthan Royals with four wickets.

In response, Rajasthan Royals came out all guns blazing, with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the charge with an incredible knock of 98 runs off just 47 balls, which included 12 fours and 5 sixes.

Sanju Samson played a supporting role with 48 runs off 29 balls, as the team reached the target with ease, losing only one wicket in the process with 9 wickets in hand  and 41 balls remaining. For the Knight Riders, their bowlers had a tough time trying to defend the target, with none of them able to pick up any wickets.
