The 55th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will take place between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at MA Chidambaram Stadium, also known as Chepauk Stadium, on Wednesday.

The Super Kings are placed at the second spot in the points table and will be looking for a victory to strengthen their qualification chances for the IPL 2023 playoffs. The four-time champions have 13 points after winning 6 out of 11 matches with a healthy net run rate (NRR) of +0.409.

The Capitals, on the other hand, are nearly out of the playoff race as they are positioned at the last spot in the team standings. DC have 8 points after winning 4 out of 10 matches with the worst NRR of -0.529.

Ahead of the high-voltage clash, the official Twitter handle of Delhi posted a video in which their players were asked to say one word about CSK skipper MS Dhoni. India’s veteran bowler Ishant Sharma considered Dhoni as his ‘Big Brother’, while star all-rounder Axar Patel termed MSD as ‘Mr Cool’.

Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh called the former Indian captain a ‘Legend’, and Sarfaraz Khan termed himself a big fan’ of Dhoni. Other DC players named the Ranchi-born superstar as ‘legend’, ‘thalaiva’, and even ‘god’.

Here is the video:

Notably, Dhoni has scored 76 runs in 10 matches this season at a strike rate of 200. MSD has been associated with the Super Kings since the initial edition of the cash-rich league, besides a 2-season stint with the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants.

Despite batting down the order, Dhoni has an impressive record. In terms of overall numbers, Dhoni has scored 5052 runs in 243 matches at an average of 39.47, including 24 half-centuries, 348 fours and 237 sixes.
