Shubman Gill’s extraordinary century propelled Gujarat Titans (GT) to a six-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium on Sunday (May 21), resulting in Mumbai Indians (MI) securing a place in the IPL 2023 playoffs. The entire MI squad, along with team owners and support staff, erupted in jubilation after witnessing the thrilling encounter between RCB and GT.
RCB set a challenging target of 197/5, courtesy of a sensational century by their star opener, Virat Kohli. Despite RCB dismissing Wriddhiman Saha early with the ball, they could not stop Gill and Vijay Shankar from adding a formidable partnership of 123 runs.
Despite facing the setback of losing two quick wickets in the middle overs, Gill ensured that RCB face defeat and bow out of the IPL 2023 playoffs.

Earlier in the day, Cameron Green smashed his maiden IPL century and helped MI in registering a thumping win over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Wankhede Stadium.
In the post-match presentation, the Aussie all-rounder said that he never felt the pressure of his massive price tag and credited batting coach Kieron Pollard for helping him in playing big shots.
“The setup has been great, I’ve been well looked after. No pressure despite the price tag. The intent at the top is important, with Ishan [Kishan’ and Rohit [Sharma] above and SKY [Suryakumar Yadav] below me,” Green was quoted as saying to the official broadcaster.
“Pollard has helped with range hitting too. When we had 20 to get, I told SKY to finish it. But with two runs to go, we just trickled over the line,” added Green.
