Indian cricket legend Sunil Gavaskar won numerous hearts with his generous and noble gesture which saw him rushing towards MS Dhoni to take the latter’s autograph following the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) game in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
Notably, the heart-warming moment between the two iconic Indian cricket personalities took place when the Super Kings did a lap of honour as it was CSK’s final league game at Chepauk.
Speaking about the same, Gavaskar went emotional and broke down on national tv in a video that is getting viral on social media. Gavaskar revealed the stroy behind taking Dhoni’s autograph and shared two moments he would like to see before leaving this planet.
“When I saw him (MS Dhoni) doing lap of honour, I thought about taking his autograph on my shirt. When I went near him, I requested Mahi. This is a very emotional moment for me. This guy (Dhoni) has achieved what not for the Indian cricket,” said Gavaskar on Star Sports.
“In some final moments of my life, I would like to see two things. First one is when Kapil Dev lifted the 1983 World Cup Trophy and second when MSD hit that six and after hitting the six the way he rolled his bat. If these are my final moments, I would happily die,” he added.
