The Ashes 2023 series commenced in a grand fashion, with Australia winning the opening Test of the five-match series at the Edgbaston in Birmingham on June 21 (Tuesday). Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon played a significant role in the visitor’s famous victory over England.

It is worth mentioning that Cummins and Lyon stitched a 55-run partnership to get Australia through in the final hour of Day 5. The heroics of the Aussie pair not just went down into the history books but is also receiving praise from the cricket fraternity and fans across the world.

However, England’s seamer Ollie Robinson is being subject to huge trolling after the Aussie duo’s exploit. Robinson had taken a jibe on the last three Aussie batters in the post-match press conference following the stumps on Day 4. Robinson had said that it’s easy to bowl out Australia after getting Cummins out as all the other batters lower down the order bat like no. 11s.

“It’s something we’ve spoken about as a group. We’ve said once we get past (Pat) Cummins, we feel like they’ve got three No. 11’s (in Nathan Lyon, Scott Boland and Josh Hazlewood,” said Robinson in the interaction with media.

“It’s something we can target through the series and try to wrap things up quite quick and give us that momentum throughout the series,” he added.

The English pacer is now being targeted and called out for the statement as fans and experts are reminding him that Aussie bowlers contributed more with the bat to win it for Australia than some of the proper batters.
