Last year, speculation surrounding the relationship between cricketer Shubman Gill and Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan began circulating on the Internet. This was fuelled by their sighting together at a restaurant, followed by videos of them exiting the same hotel and boarding the same flight.
Although neither Shubman nor Sara confirmed these reports, their fans strongly believed that they were dating. Recently, several media houses reported that Sara and Shubman have ended their relationship, as they unfollowed each other on social media. But are these reports accurate?
Sara and Shubman are just good friends
According to the multiple reports, Sara and Shubman have allegedly unfollowed each other on social media, leading to assumptions that they have called it quits. Fans took to their own social media platforms to discuss the possible reasons for their breakup.
Actually, Sara Ali Khan and Shubman never followed each other on social media. Therefore, the reports of both unfollowing each other of Instagram are just rumours.
It is worth noting that prior to the rumours, one of Gill’s teammates revealed the status of Shubman and Sara Ali Khan’s equation and whether he ditched her to be with Sara Tendulkar, daughter of legendary Sachin Tendulkar.
The cricketer also confirmed that Shubman and Sara Ali Khan are just good friends and will remain to be the same.
After the recently-concluded IPL 2023 Final between Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Ahmedabad, Sara Ali was quizzed about the ‘Hatke’ batter from the tournament.
She mentioned Gill and Virat Kohli’s tons during the match between GT and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on May 21.
“The ‘Hatke’ time for me was when Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill both made hundreds in the same match. But Virat Kohli got out after scoring really well. It was a superb match to watch. Both innings were great. That was quite ‘hatke’,” Sara was quoted as saying to the official broadcasters of IPL.
Both Kohli and Gill will be next seen in action when India take on Australia in the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final at The Oval in London from June 7.
