Fans around the world are gearing up for the start of the highly-anticipated 73rd edition of the Ashes, as England and Australia prepare to battle it out on the cricket pitch. The first Test is scheduled to take place from June 16 to June 20 at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

The previous Ashes series, held in 2019, treated fans to a sumptuous display of cricketing excellence. The series ended in a thrilling draw, with both teams winning two matches each. The series became particularly memorable due to the heroics of England’s Ben Stokes at Headingley and Australia’s Steve Smith‘s outstanding tally of 774 runs in just seven innings.

In the subsequent Ashes series of 2021-22, Australia got the opportunity to host England on their home turf. The series proved to be one-sided affair as the Australian team dominated the proceedings, ultimately defeating the English side by a comprehensive margin of 4-0.

Now, with the 73rd Ashes edition set to commence, England – under the captaincy of Stokes and the guidance of head coach Brendon McCullum – are determined to reclaim the Urn from the Australians. Meanwhile, Australia, led by the talented Pat Cummins, will be eager to continue their recent domination over England.
