Global T20 Canada, the highly anticipated cricket tournament, is making a much-anticipated comeback with its third edition after a gap of four years. The tournament is scheduled to commence on July 20 and will run till August 6, featuring six teams battling it out in 25 thrilling matches.
The recent player draft for GT20 Canada, held in Mumbai, has sparked immense excitement among cricket enthusiasts around the world.
In the previous two seasons, the tournament attracted renowned T20 superstars like Yuvraj Singh, Chris Gayle, Lasith Malinga and Shahid Afridi, who graced the event with their exceptional skills.
The upcoming season is set to showcase another star-studded lineup, with cricket legends such as Harbhajan Singh, Shoaib Malik, Shakib Al Hasan, Colin Munro, Mohammad Rizwan, Alex Hales and other prominent players being selected during the player draft.
Each squad participating in GT20 Canada consists of 16 players representing Full and ICC Associate Member Nations. The teams will feature six international players, including two marquee stars, along with four players from Associate Nations and six Canadian cricketers.
The third edition of GT20 Canada holds significant importance for Canadian cricketers, particularly with Canada regaining its ODI status earlier this year.
