The Texas Super Kings (TSK) have made significant signings for the upcoming Major League Cricket (MLC) 2023. The sister franchise of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) added players such as Devon Conway, Mitchell Santner, Ambati Rayudu and David Miller to their squad for the marquee event. Meanwhile, Stephen Fleming being the head coach of the CSK in the IPL and J’oburg Super Kings (JSK) in SA20, was once again trusted with the same role by the franchise in the inaugural MLC.
It is worth mentioning that Conway, Santner, and Rayudu recently played under Fleming and won the IPL 2023 together. Conway even won the ‘Player of the Match’ award in the rain-affected summit clash for his quickfire 47 runs off 25 deliveries. While it will be Rayudu’s first franchise league outside of India after retiring from the Indian league, the former CSK all-rounder and current bowling coach Dwayne Bravo will return to action as a player in MLC as well.
On the other hand, the TSK team also features Australia’s all-rounder Daniel Sams and SA20’s third-highest wicket-taker Gerald Coetzee among overseas players in their squad.
Head coach Fleming will be supported by Eric Simmons and Albie Morkel, who previously worked with him during the SA20. TSK even secured the services of former international players Sami Aslam and Rusty Theron alongside nineteen-year-old young USA cricketer Saiteja Mukkamalla during the MLC draft in March. Mukkamalla is currently part of the USA squad for the ODI World Cup Qualifier in Zimbabwe.
Sharing the news of his inclusion in the TSK franchise, Rayudu took to his Twitter account and expressed his excitement regarding the same by posting a picture of him wearing a TSK jersey.
“Same yellove…. Different continent… Texcited…” Rayudu captioned the post.
