The International Cricket Council (ICC) unveiled the complete schedule of ICC ODI World Cup 2023 on Tuesday, generating excitement among cricket fans worldwide. The tournament will kick off with a match between last edition’s finalists, England and New Zealand.
Cricket fans around the world are eagerly anticipating the ODI World Cup 2023, and with such exciting fixtures and venues on offer, the tournament promises to be a thrilling spectacle of cricketing excellence. As for Pakistan, their ODI World Cup campaign will commence on October 6 in Hyderabad, where they will face a Qualifier 1 team in their opening match. The team’s highly anticipated clash against arch-rival India is scheduled for October 15 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
Interestingly, this will be the third consecutive year in which Pakistan and India meet in an ICC event held in October. They previously faced each other in the T20 World Cup 2021 (UAE) and T20 World Cup 2022 (Australia).
Pakistan will compete in the league stage matches at five different venues: Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Kolkata. Their final group stage match will take place on November 12 against England at the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
The semifinals of the ODI World Cup are scheduled to be held on November 15 in Mumbai and November 16 in Kolkata. The grand finale of the tournament is set for November 19 in Ahmedabad. However, if Pakistan qualifies for the semifinals, their match will be played at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Similarly, if India reaches the semifinals, their match will be held in Mumbai, except in the scenario of a clash against Pakistan. In such a case, the semifinal between Pakistan and India will take place at the Eden Gardens.
