India’s star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has expressed his desire to make a comeback to the cricketing field as he reacted to a viral “we miss you” post on social media. Notably, Pant met with an unfortunate car accident last year in December and is currently rehabilitating under the supervision of the National Cricket Academy (NCA) medical team. The 25-year-old cricketer has shown great signs of recovery and was also spotted attending a match of Delhi Capitals (DC) in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season.

It is worth mentioning that the injuries sustained in the car crash not only forced Pant to miss the 16th edition of the IPL, but he was also ruled out from the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2023 against Australia scheduled at the Kennington Oval in London commencing from June 7. Fans and cricket experts were heartbroken with the news as Pant was at his peak form in the Test format before the accident and played a major role in India’s Gabba triumph to script history in Border Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) 2021.

With only a few days left for the summit clash to begin now, cricket enthusiasts have once again started missing India’s first-choice wicketkeeper-batter Pant as they believe that the lack of him would provide Australia with an edge over India. A post related to the same was shared by Wisden India’s official Twitter handle that said every cricket lover across the world is missing the Delhi batter. Pant was quick to react to the post and expressed his desire to make a comeback on the field by commenting that he is missing playing cricket too.

“Rishabh Pant, we miss you. Sincerely, every cricket lover across the world,” tweeted Wisden India sharing a collage of Pant.

“I am also missing playing cricket,” responded Pant.
