Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has unveiled their 15-member women’s squad for the upcoming ODI series against New Zealand.

This will undoubtedly be a challenging encounter for the Sri Lankan players, as they will be up against a formidable team known for their dominant performances on the field. However, it is important not to underestimate the Islanders as they have displayed their potential and capabilities in the recent past. The series will be particularly intriguing for Sri Lanka since the matches will take place on their home turf, adding an extra element of excitement and anticipation.

Leading the Sri Lankan team will be the experienced Chamari Atapattu, who has consistently delivered strong performances for the squad. Alongside Atapattu, the team will benefit from the presence of seasoned players like Sugandika Kumari, Nilakshi de Sil and Inoka Ranaweera. Furthermore, the team can also rely on promising young talents such as Inoshi Fernando and Udeshika Prabodhani to make valuable contributions.

While the Sri Lankan side has been displaying promising performances as of late, they will face a formidable challenge from the White Ferns, who hold a higher ranking in the ICC ODI rankings.

The tour is scheduled to commence on June 27 with the first ODI slated to be played at the Galle International Cricket Stadium, Galle. The subsequent two matches of the series will also be held at the same venue, with the second ODI set for June 30 and the third ODI scheduled for July 3.
