Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has unveiled the schedule for the highly anticipated Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 season. The T20 tournament, now in its fourth edition, promises to showcase thrilling cricketing action from July 30 to August 20.

The opening match of the tournament will feature a clash between the reigning champions, Jaffna Kings, and the Colombo Strikers. Fans can expect a captivating showdown between these two formidable teams, setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.

The initial matches of the LPL 2023 will be held in Colombo, followed by a series of fixtures at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium in Kandy. The business end of the league, including the knockout phase, will once again return to Colombo, providing a fitting setting for the climax of the tournament.

To ensure flexibility and accommodate unforeseen circumstances, a reserve day has been scheduled. In the event of any unfortunate scenarios, such as weather interruptions or other factors, the final will be played on Monday, August 21.

The five teams participating in the LPL 2023 are the Jaffna Kings, Colombo Strikers, B-Love Kandy, Dambulla Aura, and Galle Titans. Each team will face off against the others twice in a double round-robin format, leading up to the knockout rounds. The top four teams in the LPL Points Table will advance to the playoffs, which will follow an IPL-styled format as the sides will compete in the Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator.
