In the 4th match of the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023, Dindigul Dragons emerged victorious with a six-wicket win over Ba11sy Trichy at SNR College Cricket Ground in Coimbatore.
Batting first, Ba11sy Trichy faced early setbacks as they struggled to build partnerships and post a competitive total. Ganga Sridhar Raju provided some resistance with a well-played knock of 48 runs off 41 deliveries, including four boundaries and two sixes. R Rajkumar also made a valuable contribution of 39 runs off just 22 balls, smashing one four and four sixes. Despite their efforts, Ba11sy Trichy could only manage to reach a total of 120 runs in 19.1 overs.
The Dindigul Dragons bowlers put up an impressive display, causing significant damage to Ba11sy Trichy’s batting lineup. P Saravana Kumar and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up two wickets each, while Subodh Bhati and Varun Chakravarthy claimed two and three wickets respectively. Their disciplined bowling restricted Ba11sy Trichy to a modest total.
Chasing 121 for victory, the Dindigul Dragons showed their intent from the start. Shivam Singh led the charge with a blazing knock of 46 runs off just 30 deliveries, including six boundaries and three sixes. Baba Indrajith (22 runs off 23 balls) and Adithya Ganesh (20 runs off 21 balls) made valuable contributions to keep the innings on track. Subodh Bhati played a crucial cameo, smashing 19 runs off just eight deliveries, including two sixes, to guide the Dragons to a comfortable win.
