Arshdeep Singh, the talented left-arm pacer, is making a mark in his debut season of the County Championship for Kent. Having recently joined the team on the advice of current Team India coach Rahul Dravid, Arshdeep showcased his bowling skills against Surrey and left a lasting impression on the field.
In his county debut against Surrey, Arshdeep immediately caught the attention with his impressive bowling display. He finished the first innings with figures of 2/43, including the crucial wicket of England international Ben Foakes. Arshdeep’s delivery to dismiss Foakes was a snorter, demonstrating his ability to make the ball talk.
Two days later, in Surrey’s second innings, Arshdeep delivered a ripper to dismiss Jamie Smith. Smith was batting brilliantly and put the Kent side under immense pressure with his partnership with Dom Sibley. However, Arshdeep’s unplayable inswinger from round the wicket shattered Smith’s defense, uprooting the off-stump and providing a much-needed breakthrough for Kent.

On the back of Smith’s incredible century in just 70 deliveries, Surrey stood at a commanding position on Day 3 of the match, reaching 263/3 in pursuit of a target of 501 runs at the St. Lawrence Ground in Canterbury.
Having signed a deal with Kent to play five county championship matches, Arshdeep aims to make the most of this opportunity to further develop as a cricketer. His impressive debut performances have already shown his potential, and fans eagerly await more stellar displays from the promising left-arm pacer.
Looking at the current scenario, Arshdeep’s stellar performance in the County Championship might get him a call for the Indian team for the series against West Indies.
In July this year, India will travel to West Indies to play a multi-format bilateral series. IND vs WI series will witness a Test series, ODI series, and a T20I series. The Test series will see 2 games while ODI series will observe 3 matches. While the T20I series will consist of 5 matches. The starting three games will take place in West Indies, the last two games will be played in the United States.
