Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper and former Indian cricketer MS Dhoni, is celebrating his 42nd birthday today. Dhoni recently led CSK to their record-equalling fifth Indian Premier League (IPL) title and became the first cricketer to play in 11 IPL finals.

Regarded as one of the most successful captains in world cricket, MSD guided the Indian side to victory in all three ICC tournaments: the T20 World Cup in 2007, the ODI World Cup in 2011, and the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013.

Social media platforms witnessed an outpouring of birthday wishes for Dhoni from his CSK teammates, fellow cricketers, and fans. Suresh Raina, who shares a deep bond with Dhoni, tweeted, “Happy birthday to my big brother @msdhoni! From sharing the pitch to sharing our dreams, the bond that we’ve created is unbreakable.” Raina praised Dhoni’s leadership and friendship, wishing him joy, success, and good health.

Ambati Rayudu, who recently retired from all forms of the game after winning the IPL 2023 title with CSK, expressed his admiration for Dhoni. Rayudu’s heartfelt tweet read, “Wishing the legend and the greatest ever to play the sport a very happy birthday! May each and every one of our great country have the honor and the privilege of experiencing your leadership firsthand someday in every aspect of life… greatest leader!!”

Hardik Pandya, the captain of the Gujarat Titans (GT) team that lost to CSK in the IPL 2023 final, also extended birthday greetings to Dhoni. Pandya referred to Dhoni as his favorite, highlighting the admiration he holds for the veteran cricketer.

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag took a creative approach in his birthday wish, linking the number 7 with Dhoni’s significance. He tweeted, “The Sun God has 7 horses to pull his heavenly chariot. In the Rigveda, there are 7 parts of the world, 7 seasons & 7 fortresses, 7 basic musical notes, 7 pheras in a marriage, 7 wonders of the world. And on the 7th day of the 7th month – Birthday of a top man.”

Ravindra Jadeja, who considers Dhoni his “go-to man,” expressed his heartfelt wishes for the Ranchi-born superstar. Jadeja tweeted, “My go-to man since 2009 till date and forever. Wishing you a very happy birthday Mahi bhai. See you soon in yellow.”
