“He’s not camera shy…”: Wife Sakshi spill beans on MS Dhoni’s potential acting debut

Former Indian cricket team captain, MS Dhoni, has taken a new step in his career by venturing into the entertainment industry with his own production house, Dhoni Entertainment. Their first film, “Let’s Get Married (LGM),” directed by Ramesh Thamilmani, got released on July 28 and features a talented cast including Harish Kalyan, Nadiya, Yogi Babu, and Mirchi Vijay.

Sakshi Dhoni shares insight on the chances of MS Dhoni’s on-screen inception:

During the press conference for their maiden production, Sakshi Dhoni, Mahi’s wife, was asked about the possibility of her husband taking up a lead role in a film. In response, the 34-year-old said that if there is a good opportunity and a compelling script, Mahi might consider acting in a film. She highlighted that the Ranchi-born cricketer has previous experience acting in advertisements, which means he is not camera-shy. It is worth mentioning that Sakshi herself is making her debut as a film producer with LGM.

“If there’s something good, he may just (do it). He is not camera-shy. He has been acting in advertisements since 2006, and he is not afraid of facing the camera. So, might do it if there’s something good,” Sakshi said.

Sakshi also added that the cricketer will be best suited for action films.

“Action. He is always in action. What would you choose for him? If we plan to make a movie with MS Dhoni as a hero, then it will only be an action-packed entertainer. If a character with a good story and good message comes, then he [Dhoni] will consider acting in a moviem” Sakshi concluded.

Dhoni Entertainment, founded in 2019 by Sakshi and Mahi, has been actively involved in producing various short projects and documentaries. One notable project is “Roar Of The Lion,” which highlights the comeback of the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) IPL franchise after a two-season suspension.

In addition to their sports-related content, the production company has also worked on socially impactful initiatives. For instance, in 2022, they collaborated with Karkinos Healthcare, a technology-based platform focused on eradicating cancer, to create an advertisement for Women’s Day.
