India’s ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin achieved a special milestone on Day 1 of the first Test against West Indies.

Ashwin completed 700 wickets in international cricket when he dismissed Alzarri Joseph.
The Chennai-born spin wizard became the third Indian to accomplish such a milestone.
Ashwin finished the innings with the figures of 24.3-6-60-5.

Here is the list of 5 Indian bowlers with most wickets in international cricket:

  • Anil Kumble – 953 wickets in 449 innings
  • Harbhajan Singh – 707 wickets in 442 innings
  • Ravichandran Ashwin – 702* wickets in 351 innings
  • Kapil Dev – 687 wickets in 448 innings
  • Zaheer Khan – 597 wickets in 373 innings
