The eagerly anticipated third season of the Global T20 (GT20) Canada tournament is all set to commence on Thursday (July 20), with six teams vying for supremacy. The CAA Centre will serve as the exclusive venue for all 25 matches of the tournament.
In the league stage, each team will play seven matches, leading up to the playoffs scheduled to begin on August 4. The top four teams in the points table will advance to the playoffs, culminating in the grand finale on August 6.
Adding to the excitement, the esteemed British-Indian model, actress and TV presenter Karishma Kotak has been announced as the host of the tournament. Kotak brings a wealth of experience in cricket broadcasting, having previously hosted high-profile events such as the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2013, Karnataka Premier League 2016, Asian Premier League 2017, ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2019, Mumbai Premier League 2019, Abu Dhabi T10 League 2020, and most recently the Road Safety World Series 2021.
The organizing body of the Global T20 Canada introduced Karishma as the charismatic voice of the tournament, highlighting her captivating anchoring skills and infectious energy.
Born in England and later relocating to India in her 20s, Karishma has not only graced fashion runways and featured on the covers of renowned brands but has also demonstrated her cricketing knowledge and beauty while hosting the Extra Innings T20 show during the IPL 2013.
