India beat Bangladesh in the 2nd T20I

In a thrilling encounter during the second T20I of the India Women tour of Bangladesh 2023, the tourists emerged victorious at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday. With the win, India also clinched the 3-match series 2-0.

Batting first, India struggled to find momentum, and could only manage to reach 95 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma provided solid starts, scoring 13 and 19 runs respectively. However, the middle-order batsmen faced difficulties, with Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, and Harleen Deol failing to make significant contributions. Amanjot Kaur contributed well with 14 runs, allowing India to reach a modest total.

In response, the contest went down to the wire where the hosts fell short by 8 runs, being bowled out for 87 runs in 20 overs. Nigar Sultana displayed excellent resistance with 38 runs off 55 deliveries, trying to anchor the innings. However, wickets fell at regular intervals, with the Indian bowlers applying pressure.

Minnu Mani and Deepti Sharma were the key contributors, claiming 2 and 3 wickets respectively, while Shafali and Bareddy Anusha also made notable bowling contributions. In the end, India emerged victorious, securing an 8-run win over Bangladesh.
