Australia started multi-format Women’s Ashes 2023 series on a high note by winning the only Test at Trent Bridge by 89 runs. However, despite winning the opening white-ball fixture, they failed to carry the momentum in the T20I leg and lost to England (1-2).

It is worth mentioning that the final T20I of the Women’s Ashes 2023 was played at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in the presence of a great and enthusiastic crowd. Although the Australian side lost the contest, a heartwarming gesture from Aussie skipper Alyssa Healy after the match is winning many hearts online.

Following the loss, Healy met a cute little fan donning an Australian jersey in the stands and gifted her a pair of signed gloves, stating that the world needs more wicketkeepers like her. Healy further also thanked the fan girl for her support.

“Thanks for coming out to support. If you’re going to be a wicketkeeper, you’re going to need some gloves, right? How about you take some gloves with you? We need more wicketkeepers in the world,” said Healy while gifting gloves to the little girl.

The clip of Healy’s kind gesture soon surfaced on social media and has gone viral on the internet. Notably, the name of the girl in the video is Evie, and she is a British citizen. Evie is a huge fan of the Australian team and has previously also received a signed Aussie cap from Healy five years ago.

Healy-led Women in Yellow are currently 6-4 up in the Women’s Ashes 2023 and will now take on England in a three-match ODI series. The first 50-over match between the two sides will be played at the County Ground in Bristol on Wednesday (July 12), followed by the second and third ODI on July 16 and 18, respectively.
