Bollywood actress and cricket enthusiast, Saiyami Kher, is all set to showcase bowling prowess in her upcoming movie ‘Ghoomer’. The talented actress, known for her acting skills on the silver screen, is also ready to test her bowling mettle against Virat Kohli, one of the finest batter in the world. Saiyami’s confidence is soaring as she playfully boasts about her ability to dismiss her boyfriends in just three balls.

Confidence on the Pitch

At the trailer launch of ‘Ghoomer’, R Balki – the director of the film – teased Saiyami by saying that she could now even take on Virat in a cricket match. Responding to the same, Saiyami exuded confidence about her bowling skills and her ability to outfox any batsman, including Kohli. She playfully stated, “Yeh bhi Balki sir ne bol diya. Virat Kohli is the best cricketer right now. Unko out kar paayi toh ‘Ghoomer’ ki chandi ho jaayegi (If I am able to dismiss Virat then ‘Ghoomer’ will be a big hit.” The witty comment has caught the attention of fans and added to the anticipation of the face-off between Saiyami and Virat.

Saiyami’s love for cricket has been evident throughout her career, and she has often shared her admiration for the sport on social media.

Murali Kartik trained Saiyami for ‘Ghoomer’

The actress also revealed the details about her rigorous training regime during the shooting of ‘Ghoomer.’ In this film, Saiyami underwent to master her portrayal as a paraplegic sportsperson. She expressed her enthusiasm for professionally training in cricket for the first time, crediting former Indian cricketer Murli Kartik for teaching her left-arm bowling. She confidently asserted, “What I liked about this is that I could train professionally in cricket for the first time. Murli Kartik came to train me with my left arm bowling. And I can tell all my boyfriends now that I can take your cricket in the first three balls.”

Her co-star Abhishek Bachchan backed her claim, daring anyone to face six balls from Saiyami without getting out.

‘Ghoomer’ will release in cinemas across the country on August 18, 2023.
