The third and final ODI between West Indies and India turned out to be a one-sided encounter where the visitors clinched a massive 200-run victory. With the win, India also sealed the three-match series 2-1.

Put to bat, India’s opening batters set the tone for their team, putting up an impressive display of strokeplay. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill laid a solid foundation for India with their brilliant partnership.

Kishan showcased his attacking prowess, scoring a blistering 77 off just 64 balls, including 8 fours and 3 sixes. Shubman, on the other end, demonstrated his class with a well-constructed innings, amassing 85 runs off 92 deliveries, laced with 11 boundaries.

Sanju Samson and stand-in captain Hardik Pandya provided the much-needed impetus in the middle overs, contributing with their respective half-centuries. India managed to pile up an imposing total of 351 for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 50 overs, setting a daunting target for the West Indies.

In response, the hosts struggled to get going and lost wickets at regular intervals. Their batters found it challenging to build substantial partnerships against the disciplined Indian bowling attack. Alick Athanaze top-scored with 32, but it was not enough to mount a serious challenge.

The Indian bowlers, led by the impressive Shardul Thakur, wreaked havoc on the West Indian batting line-up. Thakur’s remarkable spell of 4 wickets for just 37 runs off 6.3 overs dismantled the West Indies middle-order. Mukesh Kumar also shined with the ball, taking three scalps for 30 in 7 overs, including a maiden. Kuldeep Yadav, and Jaydev Unadkat also chipped in with crucial wickets.

In the end, the West Indies were bowled out for a total of 151 in 35.3 overs, conceding a resounding victory to India by a massive margin of 200 runs. Shubman was awarded the well-deserved Player of the Match for his scintillating batting performance, which played a pivotal role in India’s commanding victory.
