Shakib Al Hasab propels Bangladesh to a decent total
Bangladesh’s innings got off to a shaky start as they lost their top-order batsmen early. Tanzid Hasan managed to score 13 runs off 12 deliveries before being dismissed, and Litton Das was dismissed for a golden duck. Anamul Haque contributed just 4 runs off 11 balls. However, the experienced Shakib Al Hasan anchored the innings with a splendid knock of 80 runs off 85 deliveries, which included 6 fours and 3 sixes.
Towhid Hridoy played a crucial role, scoring 54 runs off 81 balls, helping Bangladesh reach a respectable total. Nasum Ahmed (44 runs off 45 balls) and Mahedi Hasan (29 runs off 23 balls) also chipped in with valuable runs. In the end, Bangladesh managed to post a total of 265/8 in their allotted 50 overs.
India’s bowling attack was led by Mohammed Shami, who claimed 2 wickets for 32 runs in his 8 overs. Shardul Thakur was the pick of the Indian bowlers, taking 3 wickets for 65 runs in his 10-over spell. Axar Patel, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravindra Jadeja also managed to take one wicket each.

Mustafizur Rahman’s brilliant bowling outshines Shubman Gill’s ton
Chasing a target of 266, India’s innings got off to a disastrous start as their skipper, Rohit Sharma, was dismissed for a duck. However, Shubman Gill held the innings together with a brilliant century. Gill scored 121 runs off 133 balls, including 8 fours and 5 sixes, giving India hope of victory.
Axar Patel (42 runs off 34 balls) kept India in the chase but Bangladesh’s bowlers held their nerve, and the Indian team was bowled out for 259 runs in 49.5 overs, falling just 6 runs short of the target. Mustafizur Rahman was the hero for Bangladesh with the ball, claiming 3 crucial wickets for 50 runs in his 8 overs. Shakib, who was exceptional throughout the match, also picked up a wicket, as did Tanzim, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
