Hardik Pandya will be Rohit Sharma’s deputy at the Asia Cup 2023

Hardik, who tied the knot with Natasa on 31st May 2020, is currently with Team India on the tour of Sri Lanka and gearing up for the upcoming clash against Pakistan at the Asia Cup 2023.

As vice-captain of India’s ODI team, Hardik’s performance in the ongoing tournament will be monitored closely, especially given his impressive track record and recent captaincy in the T20 Internationals.

Speaking to Star Sports ahead of the game against Pakistan, Hardik opted to play down the Indo-Pak hype in the six-nation competition. The 29-year-old said: “A lot of emotions are attached by fans. For us, it is about playing a good team, playing a match against a very good side who has done very well in the recent past. Couple of finals they’ve played and the tension between us is always there. So for me, we try to keep the outside noise outside, and we focus on how we can play good cricket.”
