In the latest ICC Men’s ODI Bowlers Rankings, Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has achieved an extraordinary feat by securing the top spot. This marks a significant ascent from his previous ninth position. Siraj’s remarkable performance in the Asia Cup 2023, where he received the Player of the Match award in the final against Sri Lanka, has propelled him to the pinnacle with 694 ratings. Notably, he holds a 16-point lead over the second-ranked bowler, Australia‘s Josh Hazlewood.

Other elite bowlers and Kuldeep Yadav

The bowling chart feature other elite bowlers who have consistently demonstrated their skills. Trent Boult secures the third spot, with Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Rashid Khan following closely. However, in contrast to Siraj’s surge, his Indian bowling partner, Kuldeep Yadav, has experienced a dip in rankings, slipping to the eighth position with 638 ratings. Kuldeep’s recognition as the Player of the Match in the Asia Cup solidifies his standing as the only other Indian bowler alongside Siraj in the ICC ODI rankings.

Keshav Maharaj’s impressive ascent

South African spinner Keshav Maharaj has made significant strides in the ICC ODI Rankings, climbing ten places to secure the 15th position. Maharaj showcased a remarkable performance during the recent ODI series against Australia, where he picked eight wickets at an average of 16.87 and maintained an economy rate of 4.07.

Shubman Gill chasing Babar Azam

India’s emerging batting sensation, Shubman Gill, is steadily closing the gap with the top-ranked batter, Babar Azam, in the ICC ODI Rankings. Gill has accumulated 814 rating points, positioning him as a strong contender. Pakistan’s captain Babar continues to hold the top spot with 857 points, despite a somewhat uneven performance in the recently concluded continental cup. The rankings also include Rassie van der Dussen, Imad Wasim and Harry Tector in the third, fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

Heinrich Klaasen’s remarkable ascent

South African batter Heinrich Klaasen has made remarkable strides in the batting rankings following his outstanding 174-run innings against Australia in the fourth ODI. Klaasen has leaped an impressive 20 places to secure the ninth position in the ICC ODI Batting Rankings. Additionally, Dawid Malan, the top run-scorer in the ODI series against England, has achieved a career-best 13th place in the ODI Rankings with an impressive average of 92.33.

Dominance in all-rounder rankings

In the all-rounder rankings, Shakib ul Hasan of Bangladesh continues to maintain his supremacy with 371 points, closely followed by Mohammad Nabi in the second position and Sikandar Raza in the third. Among Indian all-rounders, Hardik Pandya remains a prominent figure in the top 10, advancing one place to secure the sixth position.
