In their first warm-up match ahead of the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023, Bangladesh clashed with Sri Lanka at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium on Friday (September 29). The day began with Sri Lanka winning the toss and opting to bat.

Sri Lanka Innings:

Sri Lanka displayed a competitive performance with the bat, amassing a total of 263 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 49.1 overs. The standout performances for Sri Lanka came from Pathum Nissanka, who scored a brilliant 68 runs off 64 deliveries, and Dhananjaya de Silva, who contributed with 55 runs off 79 balls. Mahedi Hasan shined with the ball for Bangladesh, claiming three wickets and conceding 36 runs in his 9-over spell.

Bangladesh Innings:

Bangladesh showcased their batting prowess by chasing down the target with finesse. They achieved a total of 264 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 42 overs. Tanzid Hasan led the charge with an impressive 84 runs off 88 deliveries, ably supported by Litton Das (61 runs off 56 balls) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (67 runs off 64 balls). Lahiru KumaraDunith Wellalage and Dushan Hemantha managed to pick up a wicket each for Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh emerged victorious by 7 wickets, displaying a strong all-around performance with both the bat and ball.
