Relive India’s gold-clinching victory at the Asian Games 2023

The final match against Sri Lanka was a one-sided affair. India won the toss and chose to bat first, setting a challenging target of 117 runs. It was Smriti who emerged as the star performer with the bat, scoring a brilliant 46 runs off 45 deliveries. Jemimah provided invaluable support with her composed innings of 42 runs off 40 balls as well.

In response, the Sri Lankan team struggled to find their footing and lost wickets at regular intervals. While Hasini Perera displayed determination with her resilient 25-run innings, it wasn’t enough to lead her team to victory. Sri Lanka managed to score just 97 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

The standout performer for India with the ball was Titas Sadhu, who put up a spectacular show by claiming three wickets for a mere six runs. Her exceptional performance played a pivotal role in securing India’s historic gold medal victory.
