ODI World Cup 2023 to start from October 5
The ODI World Cup 2023 is all scheduled to take place in India. The first match will be played between defending champions England and the runner-ups of the 2019 World Cup, New Zealand, at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Meanwhile, India will start their WC campaign against Australia on October 8 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

It is exciting to see that Tilak Varma has found a place in Jaffer’s squad, but the dynamic talent Yashasvi Jaiswal and Washington Sundar, who are constantly performing at various levels were unable to get a spot in the Mumbaikar’s squad. The team management is yet to announce India’s World Cup squad, but it will surely take no more time.
Talking about Jaffer, he played only two ODIs for India, but holds an impressive Test record. He scored 1944 runs in 31 Test matches, which also included a double hundred. The right-handed batter still holds the record of being the highest run-scorer in Ranji Trophy. He has also coached various teams, namely the Bangladesh Cricket Team, the Odisha Cricket Team, the Uttarakhand Cricket Team and Punjab Kings.
