South Africa delivered a stunning performance in the fifth and final ODI showdown against Australia, emerging victorious with a commanding 122-run margin at Johannesburg on Sunday. The Proteas’ resounding victory in this crucial fixture secured them a 3-2 series win.

In a dazzling display of all-round brilliance, Marco Jansen emerged as the star of the show in his team’s triumphant victory. When South Africa was sent in to bat first and faced a sluggish start, Jansen stepped up and delivered a handful knock with the bat, amassing an impressive 47 runs off just 23 balls. His aggressive batting injected momentum into the innings, helping South Africa to set a commanding target of 315-9.

However, Jansen’s heroics were far from over, as he continued to shine with the ball. His ferocious spell left the Australian batting order in tatters, as he claimed an exceptional five-wicket haul, marking his maiden achievement in One Day Internationals. With figures of 5/39, the 23-year-old’s bowling masterclass dismantled the opposition and played a pivotal role in securing the match and series.

Marnus Labuschagne outfoxes Temba Bavuma

It was a tough day at the office for Temba Bavuma, who was unfortunately dismissed during the match. The incident occurred on just the second delivery of the 2nd over when Sean Abbott struck the right-handed batter on his body.

Initially attempting to move away from the pitch, Bavuma soon noticed his partner, Quinton de Kock, taking off for a run. In a quick decision, the South African skipper decided to complete the run at the non-striker’s end. However, Bavuma’s efforts went in vain as Labuschagne’s pinpoint throw resulted in his run out.
